MWB #11 - Opportunities, Priorities and Judgement Skills
...there will always be opportunities, curiosity will deliver you and the beginning is always rough.
Hello, friends (I feel like calling you by name. lol),
I’ve been recently amused by how fast things can move for anyone who never stops creating, adding value to society, and seeking to be better. Things can move pretty fast. That’s the story for me since you got my last email.
Here’s what has been on my mind though;
It’s fine to strive to seize an opportunity in the lifetime of the opportunity. However, for anyone who fits the features that I described above, I believe they will always find an opportunity to capitalize on.
I live and breathe in the world of investment. And in that world, it is very easy for anyone to look and be lost in the wishful thought of “if I’d invested in that back then, I’ll be a millionaire by now.” It’s a dream world.
What those who perceived they’ve missed the BEST and ONLY investment opportunity of the decade failed to realize is that (1) some like them said the same thing many periods ago and (2) just as there were decade-defining opportunities then, there are today as well, and they just need to stop looking backward and start to look forward.
This phenomenon is not limited to the world of investing, it spreads across the board. It could be you thinking since that job opportunity is gone, the best gone, or since you missed this or that years ago, only crumbs are left today. That’s never been true at any point in time and it will never be true today.
What you should do is calm down, be present, look around and you will find the best of opportunities that you can leverage today. And while you will (definitely) see some that you missed, what you should optimize for is not missing the one right in front of you. There will always be the opportunity.
Talking about opportunities, I am convinced beyond any measure of doubt that the next 5 - 10 years are going to be critical in the world. Massive wealth creation will happen and those who position themselves to benefit from that will get a portion of the wealth. It in light of this that I created a Private Group where I share these opportunities with paying members.
It cost N20k to join the group. Because you are a subscriber to this email, you will get a 20% discount. But this offer closes by month-end, March 31. Reply to my email to this email if you want in.
Tweet Of The Week
Best of What I Wrote
Should you invest in the most profitable investment? I was asked this question sometimes in the week. It fascinates me to be asked that question and the brilliance of this question goes to the one who asked it not me. I wonder if you’ve asked yourself similar question in the past before. The answer to the question is no. However, there is more to it than just answering no. Read here to find out more.
After a friend read this article, he came back to me asking, “what’s usually going on in my head anytime I write things like this”. My answer was simple as I found the question pleasant; “the ideas tend to live rent-free on my head for long until I finally write them out”. That was my answer. I about Setting Up Your Children For A Thriving Future. But when you read it, you will realize it’s more than just about your children (you may have or not have one), it’s also about you. It’s a must-read.
Best of What I Read
I spent the weekend having a conversation with a friend about some principles that govern life. It took to talking a lot about some wisdom from Naval. After that I could not help but go and listen to some of Naval’s talk all over again. Among all the things that I listened to, there was one episode that I played for more than 10 times and I’ve played it again today. Listen to it on YouTube it’s only about 7 mins long - Judgment Is the Decisive Skill.
Patrick a favourite writer, shared his experience as a writer in an article interview. he said "It's hard to convince yourself you have something unique to say & that people will care. The first ~20 times I sent my newsletter, I imagined people were making fun of what I wrote." The beginning of all things new and creative is always scary. I remember how I started this newsletter as well; I was clueless. The story for another day.
That’s all for today.
I appreciate you in particular who always open this newsletter.
I am seeing all the data. You make it all worth it.
Thank you!
