MWB #14 - Serendipity, Shaping the Future and Focus
...many things I've been thinking about in the last week
Dear friends,
"When you recover or discover something that nourishes your soul and brings joy, cares enough about yourself to make room for it in your life." - Jean Shinoda Bolen
Many times we discover things like that and for one reason or the other we deprive ourselves of enjoying it. Here’s a call to put a stop to that.
If you discover something that nourishes your soul and brings you joy, you should do all that’s within your power to make room for it.
For me, that thing is writing. Writing reminds me that I’m alive and need to focus on myself while I still can. It reminds me things will always remain the same and that I should seize the opportunity. Importantly though, it nourishes my soul and gives me joy.
That’s because, to me, writing is an act of creation. Bringing into existence what did not exist before me is something that I enjoy. And it gives me joy.
Find yours! Discover it and make a room for it no matter what.
A book that changed my life and it’s still changing it
I’m a believer in serendipity. And why won’t I? I started in life as one of the most clueless human beings on earth, with no ambition, no dreams, and nothing big to look forward to in the future. But you know what? I stumbled on books. Books changed my life. Yes, I read like a crazy fellow. I couldn’t just get enough. Out of all my readings, one book stood out because it changed my life for good and what it is today. Read about that here.
Trends that will shape the future
Every new technology birth a new kind of wealth. That’s the nature of the world. In this thread, I explained the potential of Artificial Intelligence as a technology that will birth a new kind of wealth in the world. More importantly, I shared a tip on how you can position yourself to benefit from the change.
How can you know what to focus on?
This is question is a big one. Especially in a world where there are a lot of moving paths and everything seems to be calling our attention. I used to struggle with that question and I still do on some level. However, here’s an article on how I’ve dealing with it and finding my focus.
That's all for the week.
Do what's good to you always.
