This is the beginning of a new edition from Mind Without Boundary.
Every Monday and Wednesday, you get a mail from David Alade about one idea that will be expanded and one quote worth thinking about."
Follow the impulses of your heart.
Why?
Because the heart has a reason that is not known to the reasoning."
Follow the impulses of your heart was an idea I got from reading about the wisdom of Solomon. He simply said, “follow the impulses of your heart and if a thing looks good to you do it”.
I took time to consider this and as you probably know by now, I like to look into antecedents to draw conclusions. So I did that again this time around.
One of the things a lot of us care about is living a fulfilled life. But we are often puzzled about how to take right steps to ensure that. We wonder should I go this way or that way. We think is this what I should be doing or something else. We are many times left in the valley of decision not knowing what exactly to do.
This is where I journey back in time to examine those whom we might have admired and model our life after. How did they get their? What I learnt was that non of them was certain about the future just like you and I, they just did all what looks good to get done per time and we all saw them arrive at a destination. They simply followed the impulses of the heart.
Now, doing that might be scary but if the heart tells you to do, I implore you to do. Because the heart usually has reasons not known to the reasoning. The heart makes decisions based on a lot far from the intellect.
And at this point I am reminded of the words of Steve Jobs
“
You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something - your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.
”
Likewise for you, you have to trust your heart and follow its impulses as you journey towards mastery.
In the end, you will arrive.

Seth Godin, American author, businessman, and one of the best management thinkers I know of, wrote in his book Tribes: We Need You to Lead Us –
“ The secret of being wrong isn’t to avoid being wrong! The secret is being willing to be wrong. The secret is realizing that wrong isn’t fatal. The only thing that makes people great is their willingness to be not great along the way. The desire to fail on the way to reaching a bigger goal is the untold secret of success ”.
